Airtel and Axis Bank have launched a new co-branded credit card – Airtel Axis Bank credit card. Airtel is the first telecom company in India to jump into the co-branded credit card market. It is an entry-level credit card with excellent benefits on Airtel spending. This makes the card suitable for Airtel customers. Here is a review of the Airtel Axis Bank credit card with its rewards & benefits.
Fees and Charges
The fees and annual fee waiver are good enough for an entry-level credit card.
Joining and Annual Fee | Rs 500 plus taxes |
Welcome Benefit | Rs 500 Amazon Gift Voucher on the first transaction within 30 days |
Annual Fee Waiver | Rs 2L spend in a membership year |
Cashback
PURCHASE CATEGORY | CASHBACK | CAP |

The 25% cashback on Airtel recharges/bills and 10% cashback on utility bills are sure to attract a lot of customers. The caps are good enough for a family of 2-3 people. The 1% cashback on other spending is also good as this card can be used for all kinds of spending. The cashback can be redeemed as a statement credit.
Below spends will not get any cashback on the Airtel Axis Bank credit card:
× Fuel Spends
× Wallet Loads
× Jewelery Purchases
× Rental Payments
Features and Benefits
- Complimentary Airport Lounge Access: 4 visits/year to domestic airport lounges in this list.
- Fuel Surcharge Waiver: 1% fuel surcharge waiver for transactions between Rs 400 to Rs 4000. Maximum Rs 500/month.
Return on Spends Calculator
The return on spends is actually very good when we put in estimate spends. Provided we do not exceed the caps in the accelerated cashback categories, we can easily get a 7% plus return on this spend. Again, this is if spends are low.
Final Thoughts
Axis Bank has some good entry-level cashback credit cards like the Flipkart Axis and Ace. The Airtel Axis Bank credit card joins them. This card is ideal for the Airtel customer who prefers cashback over rewards and miles.
For some, this might even be a better cashback card than Ace depending on your spending. If you use Airtel services and have up to Rs 3000 worth of utility spends, this card gives better cashback than Ace. Ace is better in one area, with 2% cashback for all spends.
